Member Spotlight: Harvest Hill Acres
Have you met Diana Weinhardt-Treangen of Harvest Hill Acres? She’s our CVG Member Spotlight of the week!
Harvest Hill Acres, located in the beautiful Sogn valley of south central Minnesota near Dennison, is home to a purebred flock of CVM Romedale sheep, llamas, chickens, angora rabbits and honeybees. Diana’s flock began in the spring of 2015 with two wethers who needed a home. Needless to say, it was love at first sight. As Diana continued to search for more sheep to join her flock, luck was in her favor and a starter flock joined the farm in September of 2015.
The decision to raise CVM Romedale sheep was an intentional commitment to wildlife conservation due to the sheep’s status as a critically endangered breed of sheep. With a variety of colors and soft fleeces that are easy to spin, knit or weave, CVM Romedale are a fiber artist’s dream! Harvest Hill Acres is also home to ‘Wild Barn Yarn’, totally unique yarns made from farm fiber with a touch of wild fibers like bison, yak, camel and angora rabbit.
You can find Harvest Hill Acres’ fiber goods including yarn, roving, wool pins, quilt battings, notecards of farm animals, recycled feed sack totes, antler buttons and more at their on-site store (by appointment only) or in person this Saturday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Cannon Valley Farmers’ Market!
